What Is The Period Purse?
The Period Purse is a Canadian registered charity who strives to achieve menstrual equity by providing marginalized menstruators with access to free menstrual products, and to reduce the stigma surrounding periods through public education and advocacy.
Who is Jana Girdauskas?
Jana always wanted to become the CEO of a charity and in 2017, that dream began to sprout when Jana founded The Period Purse. Jana has been recognized as a Top Women of Influence in 2018, and received a Women of Distinction award from the YWCA Toronto and named as a TOMS Change Maker in 2019. Also in 2018, Jana wore our favorite tassel earrings on an appearance on Breakfast Television. When she is not talking about periods, Jana is also a teacher who works in special education. She is a mother of two and lives with her family inToronto.
